Chemical Contract Manufacturing and Application
Chemical Contract Manufacturing units make custom-built products for their clients. The experience of Chemical Contract Manufacturing units in conducting staged reactions within controlled parameters help to customize the clients’ requirements. The manufacturing process involves not just synthesizing, blending and crystallization but also the manufacture of starting materials enabling complete control over the course of production. This also facilitates Chemical Contract Manufacturing units to customize their client’s products to perfection. The advantage is that adjustments can be made as per requirement at any stage of production to enable meeting the clients’ specifications. In many instances what started off as an experimental adjustment in the Chemical Contract Manufacturing unit is consequently integrated in to the regular manufacturing process. The changes incorporated keep the options of changes open and makes it possible to meet the growing demands of the customers.
There are many applications of chemical contract products some of which are discussed below.
Uses as a Cleansing Agent – Salts are known to deposit and cause large scale scaling in heat exchangers, boilers and water circulation system in dairy, sugar and brewery industries. Chelates can negate the effect of the damaging metal ions and dissolves the scales from the water ways, and prevents new scaling from forming.
Uses in Agriculture – Crops thrive on nutrients and chelated metals work as carriers of micro nutrients, providing trace elements to plants under varied ecological conditions. It can be used as foliar spray or applied to the soil. The nutrients feed the plants and they bloom. These are safe to use and do not have toxicity.
Uses in Textile Industry – Chelating agents eliminate and deactivate heavy metal ions during the scouring and bleaching process of the textile threads. If left unattended, these metal ions quickly begin decomposing peroxide, which is used as a bleaching agent on the textiles. Chelates also enhance the performance of the baths prepared for dyeing the textile materials, by dissolving the hardness ions which hamper the dye catching on to the textile.
Uses in the Food Industry – Chelating agents are known to increase the shelf life of packaged food. Heavy metal ions degenerate fats and vegetable oils making them rancid. The metal ions are deactivated by the chelating agents.
There are a lot of other industries where the use of chelates has proven beneficial. Some of these industries where it is used are as follows –
1. Soaps and Detergents Manufacturing
2. In Photography for Printing Process
3. Printing Ink used in the Textile Industry
4. It is used in Tanneries for tanning leather
5. In Mining of Precious Metals and in Plating of Metals
