India, as a country, and as a culture is one of the most unique places in the whole world. Being considered as a part of world’s oldest civilisation, it is the range of happenings in the land of the sages, which has brought it into the eye of the world. If said that the Indian culture is a perfect mix, then there won’t be anything wrong in the statement, as every aspect of Indian life reflects its variations.

The total of India is divided into different states and union territories with each of them having a culture of their own. Starting from the recipes to the clothes the people of these states wear, everything has its own identity. Indian crafts are varying from one state to another, with handicraft items being famous in one state while weaving is famous in the other. Some states reflect the Indian crafts in form of conch shells and some give a touching finish to the form of paintings.

Pilgrimage places are spread across the whole of the country, with people of the region as well as the whole country revering these places. Be it Haridwar in Uttarakhand or the Jagannath temple in Puri in Orissa, the pilgrimage places in India are strong forces for unifying the whole country. Of the various types of variations seen in Indian culture, the Indian way of preparing and eating the food is perhaps the widest of the spread as Indian cuisines and Indian recipes are prepared and enjoyed with utmost dedication.

It is during the whole of the year that one can have the taste of the Indian cookery when preparations of many types are done. Be it the Durga Puja festival during October or the Holi during March and Diwali during November, the Indian festivals are a clear reflection of the oneness and uniqueness of India. The spirit of celebration is clearly reflected in the fact that none of these festivals and occasions passes off without the range of delicacies and food items. Indian cuisine has held its identity so strongly that Indian recipes are being prepared nowadays in the foreign countries, by Indian as well as the native residents.

In India, religion has had a strong influence and has been the uniting and sometimes dividing force in the country. But with so many pilgrimage places, and the variety in Indian cuisines and Indian festivals, the common man is bereft of thinking about the differences. Indian clothes is perhaps another of the examples where diversity is leading to unity in the Indian soil. Indian culture is truly a reflection of a country where different aspects of life has led to a single identity as a whole. If Indian clothes and other features of the culture have added to the oneness, then Indian industries have added to the growth of the feeling of being a single entity and all of these factors have worked towards establishing the indelible mark in the world.
